Jewellery with purpose. Made in Laos.
Who?
A collaboration between us and village artisans in Laos, to make an impact for good. Loom work collectively to make a positive and peaceful change for the future.
What?
From 1964 - 1973 approximately 270 million bombs were dropped on Laos by the USA.
An estimated 80 million UXO failed to detonate and still litter the land.
Loom Designs Peace Jewellery has been re-cast from aluminium war scrap. Village Artisans melt down this war scrap in traditional earthen kilns and using basic wood ash moulds turning a negative into beautiful meaningful jewellery
Why?
This Peace Project provides sustainable income to the metal artisans, and training and employment to Hmong women who sew the fine traditional embroidery.
